Bio

Growing up, I was the kid who brought my Babysitters Club books to read at the dinner table. (Clearly, I was a very cool child.) My obsession with the series was more about the reading part than the subject of these stories, having never actually babysat anyone, ever. Somehow, this love of books translated into a career as I grew up (kind of) to become writer and author myself.

My claim to pseudo—fame is co-writing the dating guide The Little Black Book of Big Red Flags (Adams Media, June 2011) and co-founding the dating horror story blog BigRedFlags.com. I started my writing career at People magazine, then served as the Relationships Editor for Glo.com and now I am a Staff Writer for The Huffington Post, working on the Weddings and Divorce verticals.

As a dating and relationships “expert—if one can self-bestow such a title without (a) sounding like an asshole and (b) setting oneself up for a life full of romantic failure—I’ve been featured on Fox 5 San Diego, “The Mark & Brian Show” on 95.5 KLOS, Playboy Radio, LA Talk Radio, Essence Online and HollywoodLife.com, among other broadcast and online outlets. My work has also appeared in Glamour, FHM.com, Woman’sDay.com, TheCollegeCrush.com and USC’s liberally-slanted newspaper, The Trojan Horse, where I began my writing career as a sex columnist. I also have a fancy Master’s degree in creative writing from USC. So there.

When I’m not grilling my friends about intimate details of their love lives or being inappropriately mean toward people I barely know, I’m (slowly) working on my solo book project. Or watching The Biggest Loser.
